The Ghost Dog Blog

Holidaze Edition

Greetings Soonaphiles!

Ghost Dog here, hoping that whatever you are celebrating as the year comes to a close, includes a warm fire, warm drinks, and friends to share them with.

Here at Soona Central we are stepping back just a bit after releasing three albums in one year. Esteemed CEO now has plenty of time to fill your orders, and even gift wrap them! We think these three new albums will make excellent presents! All our other albums too. Please check them out in the Soona Store.

The first 2017 release - The Malvinas (Beth Cahill, Gina Forsyth, and Lisa Markley) are having great success with God Bless the Grass! Geographically challenged as they are (Quebec, Louisiana, and Upstate New York) they will be on the road this year, so look for them!

The second for 2017 - Esteemed CEO's release, Little Blue Car also received a warm reception from the Folk DJs, and she will continue to get off her butt and play out in the coming year. Ghost Dog promises to nip her on her way.

And the third and final 2017 release from Markley & Balmer (Lisa Markley and Bruce Balmer) - Standards & Covers! We are going jazz here, and it is currently making its way to all the Jazz DJs, and should also be in your changer, for those candlelit dinners - an aid to digestion and romance!

Soona Snacks!

A little pre-season gift for your download and listening pleasure:
  • In honor of the season, from Kevin Elliott's latest, Patterns of Blue, "Shout Out to the Angels"

  • And from our rock band, Radiophonic, a ballad, to help you remember all the people you need to buy gifts for, "Concentrate" from The Proud Ones.

As the earth cycles to darkness, then to light, we wish you joy in all your celebrations. And we thank you for supporting independent music, especially ours.

Three Albums at Once Edition

Greetings Soonaphiles,

Fall is here, and Ghost Dog is here too, reporting that things have been more than a bit busy at Soona Central. Three album releases in one year is a lot of music going down. We have worked man-of-many-talents, Graham Duncan very hard, John Scrip of MASSIVE Mastering worked hard too, even Esteemed CEO put in time. But we are very pleased with the results, and hope you will be too.

Esteemed CEO would like me to remind you that all of these albums come one size fits all, and could be the perfect solution to any gift giving you may be planning, so do not hesitate to buy them!

Officially available on October 30th, (but the store is open now) the latest release from our recently re-located Jazz Duo, Markley & Balmer, Standards & Covers

Esteemed CEO's long awaited summer release, Marilyn Duncan - Little Blue Car

And the even longer awaited spring release from The Malvinas, God Bless the Grass

As a little gift from us to you, the new Soona Snacks are songs from these latest releases. Enjoy!
  • From The Malvinas - God Bless the Grass An angelic version of "How Can I Keep from Singing"

  • From Marilyn Duncan - Little Blue Car An introspective singer/songwriter tune, with some great banjo by Roy Andrade, harmony and extra guitar by Graham Duncan - "Hold On"

  • From Markley & Balmer - Standards & Covers A very cool arrangement by Bruce Balmer, sung beautifully by Lisa Markley - "House of the Rising Sun"

As the sun makes its way back towards Australia, we here at Soona Songs wish you light in the darkness, love in your hearts, and thanks for supporting independent music, especially ours.

Soona's Summer Solstice Song

Ghost Dog here, hoping our friends in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying the extra sunshine as the inevitable turn to the south commences.

While Esteemed CEO continues with promotion of The Malvinas' God Bless the Grass, man-of-many-talents Graham Duncan has finalized her new album, Little Blue Car, and now that is off of his plate, will begin finalization of Markley & Balmer - Standards & Covers.
